8.11.2022 I Gmail

The new Gmail user interface will become the standard experience for Gmail with no option to revert back to the “original view” at the end of this year (starting at the end of November). The new user interface brings applications like Gmail, Chat and Meet in one unified location. Users are still able to change their Gmail theme, inbox type and more through quick settings.

The integrated view with Gmail, Chat, Spaces, and Meet on the left side of the window will also become standard for users who have turned on Chat.

Through quick settings (on the top right corner) you can customize this new interface to include the apps most important to you, whether it’s Gmail by itself or a combination of Gmail, Chat, Spaces, and Meet.

Availability: All, except Google Workspace Essentials customers.

Timeline:

Rapid Release domains: Gradual rollout (up to 15 days for feature visibility) starting on November 8, 2022.

Scheduled Release domains: Gradual rollout (up to 15 days for feature visibility) starting on November 29, 2022.
