7/22 New integrated email marketing tools for Gmail

Modified on Wed, 21 Dec, 2022 at 9:12 AM

28.7.2022 I Google Gmail

The new features of Google Mail enable a quick and easy way to create announcements, newsletters and other emails to be sent to a large group. The update includes two new features, one of which is the ability to modify the layout, and the other is the ability to multi-send.

Layouts: You can select from a predefined set of email templates, which feature images, text elements, and buttons. You can further customize these templates with your own color schemes, logos, images, footer text, and links.

Multi-send: This feature allows you to send mass emails without the need to BCC all recipients. By default, multi-send emails include an unsubscribe link unique to each recipient — anyone who unsubscribes is automatically excluded from future multi-send emails from you.

The admin has the option to enable/disable these features in their own organization.

Create a branded email

  1. On your computer, go to Gmail.

  2. In the top left, click Compose .

  3. At the bottom of the window, click Layouts .

  4. If you haven’t used layouts before, click Customize styling.

  5. Enter details to build your design. You can customize your layout with: Logos, colors, fonts, images, footer details, links

  6. After you change your preferences, click Save & continue. Style changes only affect your new email layout. Tip: You can include your business name and address in the footer details.

  7. Select a layout.

  8. Click Insert.

  9. After you add the layout to the body of the email, you can add text and images or remove sections you don’t want.

  • If you include a button, make sure you set a link for the button.

  • If you add images, Google recommends you include alt text in case an image is not rendered. Alt text also helps people who use screen readers better understand your branded email.

  • To change an image in an email template

    • Click the image > Change template.

    • Select an image.

    • Click Next.

    • Crop the image as needed.

    • Click Insert.

Availability:

Available for Google Workplace Business Standard and up. These features are only available for Gmail on the web at this time.
