1/22 New built-in interoperability between Google Meet and Zoom

Modified on Wed, 25 Jan 2023 at 03:27 PM

19.1.2023 I Google Meet

Sometimes you need to collaborate with customers or partners outside of the Google Meet ecosystem and with this update it's even easier: now you are able to join Zoom meetings from Google Meet hardware devices or join Google Meet meetings from Zoom Rooms. So this new update allows participants from both Meet and Zoom Rooms to join the same meeting!

Notice that some Meet features are not supported in a Zoom meeting. Interoperability supports core video conferencing features.

How to join a Zoom meeting from a Google Meet hardware device:

  • Joining an ad-hoc meeting by tapping "Join or start a meeting" on your touch controller and selecting Zoom from the dropdown options.

  • Joining a scheduled meeting by adding a room to an event with Zoom meeting details.

Learn more about Meet interoperability.

Availability: Available to all Google Workspace customers.

Timeline: Rapid & Scheduled Release domains: Gradual rollout (up to 15 days for feature visibility) beginning on January 26, 2023.
